Ayurveda is the age old Indian System of medicine practiced in India since the Vedic period. Medicinal properties of herbs and minerals are mentioned for the first time in Adarvaveda, one of the four Vedas.

Vedas are the books of wisdom of ancient India. They are Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Adarvaveda. All the traditional Indian sciences have their roots in these Vedas. In Adarvaveda about 64 herbs are mentioned along with their therapeutic properties for the treatment of diseases and for maintaining the balance of the doshas.

More and more knowledge has been added to this corpus during the centuries and has slowly evolved into a full-fledged science of medicine; put in a broader perspective it has become an art of living healthy, and in harmony with the Universe, observing its natural rhythms. This science came to be known as Ayurveda – the Science of Life.

The Universe is composed of five fundamental elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether which are called the Panchabhutas. All living and non living matter is made of these five elements.

In the living body the five fundamental elements combine among themselves in differing ratios to form three basic principles of life – the Tridoshas. They are Vata - dominantly Air and Ether showing their characters, Pitta - dominantly Fire and Water showing their characters, and Kapha - dominantly Earth and Water showing their characters.

IIndividuals are formed with unique combinations of the doshas, the Prakriti. The Prakriti is formed when the ovum and the sperm unite to form a new life. It is heavily dependent on the dosha combination and the kind of life, work, food, environment, etc of the donors. Prakriti is a dynamic balance among the doshas. The physical and mental character of any living thing is determined by its Prakriti.

Most of us go on vacation to find relief from day to day stress, and to revitalize and rejuvenate our tired bodies. Certain Ayurvedic treatment procedures are perfect in helping to achieve this. There are many ailments for which modern classical medicine does not have an answer, but which the Ayurvedic science can deal with most effectively, e.g., arthritis, skin lesions such as psoriasis and eczema, auto immune diseases, digestive complaints, metabolic disorders like fibromyalgia, muscular dystrophy, myo-encephalitis, spine and neck problems etc.

Resorts all around the world offer massages, beauty care etc, but not a total health treatment. We offer you an exceptional Ayurvedic health vacation, which you will not find elsewhere. We are sure that you will definitely enjoy these treatments and it will be time and money well spent. Ayurveda literally means the science of life. This traditional Indian health system dates back almost 5000 years. Today it continues to be one of the most effective medical sciences extant.

Ayurveda is based on the Tri dosha principle; the three doshas being Vata, Pitta and Kapha (air, fire and water). It is with the harmonious interaction of these principles that the body functions in a healthy way. These principles govern our physical and mental activities. If doshas are not in balance, diseases break out.

According to Ayurveda curing a disease means bringing the doshas to a dynamic equilibrium and not just a relief from the symptoms. Since different food substances either aggravate or balance the doshas, proper nutrition is vital in Ayurvedic treatment. Medicines used are herbs and herbo-mineral preparations which will not give your body any harmful side effects. A series of treatments are arranged, after consultation to treat specific problems and conditions. Each specific schedule is made depending on the problems and the availability of your time.

We suggest a minimum of 9-11 days for any treatment; the number of treatments needed depends on the disease and the condition of the patient. If you are booking in for a cleansing program, the number of days needed is 7-14 days.

Our treatments include massages, herbal and / or oil treatments administered to the body and internal herbal medicines. A typical treatment session takes 90 minutes.
